Breaking News: Italy Opens Work Visa Slots:2026–2028
Italy work visa: Italy has announced a major legal work opportunity for foreigners, confirming nearly 500,000 work visa quotas under its new Flussi Decree for 2026–2028.

The decision, published by the Italian government in October 2025, sets out how non-EU citizens can enter Italy legally for seasonal, non-seasonal, and selected self-employed work over the next three years.
How Many Workers Italy Will Accept
In total, 497,550 foreign workers will be admitted between 2026 and 2028. The yearly allocation is:
2026: 164,850 workers
2027: 165,850 workers
2028: 166,850 workers
Importantly, these quotas apply only to foreign nationals living outside Italy and are distributed by job sector and country of origin.
Jobs Covered by the Flussi Decree
The programme focuses on sectors facing labour shortages. These include:
Agriculture
Tourism and hospitality
Construction and skilled trades
Family and home-care services
Approved non-seasonal roles
As a result, many employers will rely on foreign workers to fill essential roles.
Key Click Day Dates for 2026
Italy uses fixed online application days known as “click days.” For 2026, the dates are:
January 12: Seasonal agricultural work
February 9: Seasonal tourism jobs
February 16: Non-seasonal work and some self-employment
February 18: Family and home-care roles
Applications are submitted by Italian employers, not by individual applicants.

Why This News Matters
Previously, many foreign workers struggled with unclear timelines. Now, Italy has published quotas and dates early. This creates a more predictable and transparent system, although competition is expected to be very high.
Therefore, early preparation is essential.
