Don’t Search for a Flight Like This

The cheapest flight is NOT always the lowest price you see first.

A flight showing US$700 can actually cost more than one showing US$800 once you add baggage, airport transfers, long layovers and other fees.

Here are 5 things I check before booking:

1️⃣ Be flexible with your dates
Flying Tuesday or Wednesday can sometimes be cheaper than Friday or Sunday.

2️⃣ Check nearby airports
Don’t search only one airport. Another nearby airport could have a much better fare.

3️⃣ Compare 1-stop flights
A direct flight isn't always the best deal. A reasonable one-stop route can save you money.

4️⃣ Check the baggage allowance
A cheap ticket with no checked baggage may become expensive when you add luggage.

5️⃣ Don't rush to book
Compare different dates and airlines first. Sometimes moving your trip by just a day or two can make a big difference.

Don't ask, “What is the cheapest flight?”

Ask:

“What is the cheapest TOTAL cost for this trip?”
