I didn’t spend more than US$3,500 on my 7-day trip to the UK-Manchester

I’m sharing this because I know one of the biggest questions people ask before planning a UK trip is:

“How much will I actually need when I get there?”

For my 7-day trip to Manchester, my total spending was around US$3,500. This covered my return flight, accommodation, feeding, local transportation, activities, and some extra cash for shopping.

Here’s the breakdown:

Expense Estimated Cost
✈️ Return Flights USD 1,500
🏨 Accommodation USD 850
🚆 Local Transport USD 150
🍽️ Food USD 400
🎟️ Activities USD 200
🛍️ Shopping / Extra USD 400
TOTAL — 7 DAYS USD 3,500

Important: This is what I’m sharing as a trip budget/experience estimate. It is not the same as the Proof of Funds (POF) I showed when applying for the UK visa.

Your actual cost can be higher or lower depending on your flight dates, hotel, spending habits, and the activities you choose.

But the interesting part?

You don't necessarily need to spend a fortune to enjoy the UK for a week.

Manchester is also a great option if you want to experience the UK beyond London, from football and beautiful architecture to shopping, restaurants and easy access to other cities.

If you’re planning a UK trip, save this post. You may need these numbers later.

And if you had 7 days in the UK, which city would you choose: London, Manchester, Liverpool or Edinburgh?
